10 slightly unsettling thoughts (and why that's a good thing)

For the past few months, I have been finding my peace in existential psychotherapy, philosophy, and coaching; and I've been observing how powerfully it all manifests in daily life.

Sometimes, even too much so.

There are books that you read. And then there are those that quietly begin to read you.

The books that have stayed with me the most (so far) are When Nietzsche Wept and The Schopenhauer Cure.

Here are 10 insights that continue to unfold in real life—and that can be worked through via professional coaching (with me 😊):

1. We are all afraid—just under different masks.

"Every person must decide for themselves how much truth they can stand." 👉 Coaching: Name the fear → find the strength beneath it → act from that state of being.

2. The real problem rarely matches the one being stated.

"It's not so much what happens to you, but how you interpret it that matters." 👉 Coaching: Go a level deeper... and then even deeper—until you reach what truly matters.

3. Avoidance is the most expensive strategy.

"Avoidance itself often causes more pain than the thing we are avoiding." 👉 Coaching: Turn insights into small, actionable steps.

4. Awareness without action changes nothing.

"Understanding alone is not enough—it must be followed by action." 👉 Coaching: Every insight must translate into behavior.

5. Responsibility is heavy, but liberating.

"To be free means to be responsible for oneself." 👉 Coaching: A shift from "someday" → to "what can I do right now?"

6. We want freedom—and fear it at the same time.

"Freedom is terrifying because it implies responsibility." 👉 Coaching: Developing the capacity to tolerate uncertainty.

7. We reveal ourselves faster in relationships than in solitude.

"It is precisely in relationships that we discover ourselves." 👉 Coaching: Using the session space to hear yourself more clearly.

8. We often choose familiar pain over unfamiliar growth.

"People prefer the certainty of misery to the uncertainty of change." 👉 Coaching: Making the unconscious choice conscious.

9. Authenticity comes at a high price—but it is essential.

"Become who you are." 👉 Coaching: Separating what is truly yours from what has been imposed on you.

10. Meaning isn't found—it is created.

"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how." — Friedrich Nietzsche, my long-time intellectual crush. 👉 Coaching: Aligning actions with your chosen meaning.

If you notice that you keep walking in the same circles, chances are you don't need more effort—you need a different level of awareness.
